Reparation of large oil-polluted land within 3 months

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Location: Kaoshiong, Taiwan

Date: May 2022

Objective: Remove oil pollutants from soil on former oil refinery land

Challenge: The task at hand involves tackling soil pollution caused by petroleum hydrocarbons from a crude oil refinery that has been in use for several decades. At its highest concentration, the total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) level is believed to have reached 12,000 ppm. The local authorities have set a target of six months for the cleanup, with the condition that there are no harmful byproducts. Traditional in situ remediation methods are not suitable as they require several years to complete and generate waste water or gas.

Fortunately, Kinross Pro Bios can be utilised in situ, delivering outstanding results without producing any toxic byproducts.
